The original shot was in good shape so I just needed to crop it to 1680, adjust the contrast, very slightly boost saturation, and sharpen.

The original shot was in portrait format. I rotated and cropped to 1680. The rotation left some dead areas so I needed to duplicate the sky around the corners.
I adjusted the levels, contrast, saturation, and sharpening. It's a great shot.

Shot is cropped to add impact (nothing lost since original just had more blue space). Levels were lightened and contrast enhanced. Slight saturation boost and sharpening.

F/A-22 and F-15E 1680 x 1050 Widescreen Wallpaper.Classic formation shot with an Alaskan mountain background. The F/A-22 is designed to replace the F-15 and you can see the design improvements. If I remember correctly, the F/A-22 is replacing the F-15E in Alaska.
This shot required a lot of post-processing. The original shot was washed out so I had to adjust the RGB levels. I also did a bump in contrast with a touch of saturation to make the color pop. The end result is much better than the original.

I've visited Tuscon once before while on a trip to Phoenix. They filmed a lot of old western movies in the surrounding desert area (famous for the Saguaro Cactus) but overall, there ain't much there....

Blue Angels: A Year In The Life
The show is called "Blue Angels: A Year In The Life" and it chronicles how a pilot goes from flying Navy fleet aircraft to flying an F-18C with the Blue Angels demonstration team.
What makes the show so amazing is that the film crew has complete access to the BA team. You follow the team through their initial training in El Centro, CA to their final show in Pensacola, FL. Have you ever seen a BA preflight briefing? You will now and prepare to be humbled by their dedication and professionalism.
You also get HD camera footage from inside the cockpit and it's STUNNING. I can't recommend this show highly enough. If you don't have it, buy it now. You won't be disappointed.

SLUF: Short Little Ugly F----R
The A-7D version (for the USAF) had the distinction of being the only aircraft to ever make my eyes tear-up from the nearly toxic jet engine exhaust. Trust me, you never wanted to be stuck behind a bunch of these aircraft on the flightline.
When I was at Nellis during the 80's, there were a bunch of A-7s stationed there to train the F-117 pilots out at Never-Never Land (Area 51). Most of us knew they were a ruse, but we didn't know what for until the F-117 was declassified.

Friday Video: The YF-23 and Test Pilot Comments
I worked at Northrop during the time the ATF competition was in full swing. I remember watching the videos and getting the promo materials on the YF-23. Today's video is all about the YF-23 with commentary by test pilot Paul Metz.
When I look at the YF-23, it reminds me of the SR-71. I wanted it to win the competition but it lost out to the YF-22, which we know today as the F/A-22 Raptor. In the end, the F/A-22 is an incredible plane, but I still wish some F-23s would have been built.
European Trip Report
We actually got up early and made it out to the parade route. The highlight for me was the fly-over of nearly 100 aircraft and helicopters. :)
I put together a brief video for family and friends. I figured I'd post it here for some of you to enjoy. My life is pretty busy these days with travel (both business and pleasure). Next week I'll be in California again and then over in Birmingham Alabama. I've spent more time away from home that at home over the last three months.
